Original Watercolour Painting by Steve Slimm - Creek at Daybreak
This original watercolour on paper, entitled "Creek at Daybreak" (unmounted size approx: 37cm x 27cm. Mounted size: approx 51cm x 41cm) was created in Steve's studio near Penzance in 2014.
This watercolour has that sense of space I love, which occurs between trees and water. It's painted with places in mind that have brought both tranquillity and peace into my life - places such as can be found on the Helford river, or near Tresillian (near Truro, Cornwall). It also reminds me of places in Brittany, from a further removed memory, when I used to go there regularly. It will mean different things to different people - which is the kind of work I love to do. Because then a painting can become both extremely personal, while at the same time being universal.
