A Prick In The Arm - A Poignant Poem of Rawness

A Prick In The Arm - A Poignant Poem of Rawness

Telescopic Heart

A Prick In The Arm
The world goes quiet, truth
Is on the wing, tired
Of being buttoned up -
Made out to be a threat.

When clamouring is stilled
To a pin-drop, the sound
Of Money talking rings
Grievously in the ear;

From there, dropping painfully
Into the heart, causing
A sting to the eye, and
Water to flow freely –

Bathing innocent children of light
In the solace of intense
Outrage: as the sound of
Money talking takes its toll.
