Whether along the Fal river, Fowey or Helford, the south coast of Cornwall is littered with enchanting creeks, tidal inlets full of interest and delight. In some you might encounter a lone heron, stood motionless, awaiting his opportunity to stike on an unwary mullet or bream. In others you may find a disused wreckage of a boat from a bygone era, gathering seaweed and rot. Creeks are places of huge fascination for me. This painting has been gestating for a number of years in my studio, awaiting the finishing touches this year.
