Prussia cove lies on the south coast in West Cornwall, not far from Penzance. I used to live within walking distance, and often found myself there over the years. It was not a place I often painted, so this piece is somewhat of a rarity. It has been gestating in my studio for the best part of a decade. I really wanted to capture the feel of the dying light, as it fades into darkness. The result here contains the drama I have sometimes witnessed. This seems to be the year when I complete work to my satisfaction.
