The transformation of summer is held closely in the intimate details of each head of corn, each sprig of wild flower, each stem of grass maturing, coming toward fruition and seasonal closure. Ripeness is the end result as summer merges softly into autumn.
Over the last few years, this painting itself has undergone its seasonal changes, and has now come into its own ripeness.
